My father was a cabinet maker on a beach hotel in Zandvoort, Holland. I used to play in his workshop as a child and had my first experience of feeling the texture of woods in my hands.

My childhood experience was my inspiration. That was the beginning of my passionate involvement in the furniture and interior making. I am passionate about many things: I love music, paintings, arts, cigars, golf and fantastic places. I also love talking and teaching people. I simply love life and I guess all these passions combined have made me different in my approach towards my professional life.

I believe that being different, being extraordinary is what makes one's creation has a distinguished value. Life could be an extraordinary experience, so why settle for less?

AVIP of course operates with the same philosophy. I set up AVIP in Indonesia because I knew I have found my second home, as soon as came to this country. I simply love the people and I knew that there is still a big opportunity to give my knowledge and expertise away. All these gave me so much energy. This is also the country where I met my lovely belated wife, Nui, who had supported me in an exciting journey setting up AVIP Indonesia.
