AVIP is a personal initiative
of its managing director: Frans Spanjaart. A professional with his
heart in the interior design and furniture business.
Frans Spanjaart has been working in the profession for more than 30
years. For many of them he worked as a furniture maker and project
leader. In 1985 he took the step towards being an independent businessman
and started as the managing director with an internationally operating
project organizer.

His first company was

town around 20 miles away from Amsterdam. In 1988 Frans merged his
company with two other partners and changed the name of the company
into BASIM Interior Maker.

stepped out of the partnership and set up AVIP in Beverwijk. The name
AVIP stands for: Advies and Verkoop Van Interior Produkten, which
means selling and giving advice for interior products. |
|
|
|
| Under his leadership
AVIP Holland has realized many interior projects worldwide, including
offices, banks, shops, hotels and restaurants. |

In
1995, Frans was asked to join a team of designers to work on a design
project for about 500 Citibank branches around the world, namely
in North America, South America, Middle East, Europe and Asia. During
this priod another AVIP branch in Hacketsville, USA was set up.

Finally he landed in
Indonesia to build the first Citibank branch in Sudirman. Frans
fell in love with the country and the people, and he decided to
stay and set up another office in Jakarta.
|
|

|
| In 1995, he started his
office in Jakarta only with 3 staffs, while still working with his
Dutch and American teams in finalizing projects outside of Indonesia. |
| Five years later Frans decided
to stay for good in Indonesia and focus all the activities from Indonesia
only and opened the first showroom and office in Permata Hijau to
support the growing business in Jakarta. |
