Introduction

My Father was a cabinet maker in a beach hotel in Zandvoort, Holland. As a boy, playing in his workshop, I gained my first experiences of the feeling and texture of wood in my hands. The symbiosis of the raw timbers inner intrinsic beauty given shape and form by human hand, eye and most importantly, imagination. These childhood experiences inspired me.

That was the beginning of my passionate involvement in furniture and interior making. My passions extend to many areas. I love music, paintings and art, fine cigars, golf and simple, I love life. It is this combination of my passions that gives me a different approach towards my professional life.

I believe that being different: being extraordinary is what give one’s creation a distinguishing value. Life sholud be an extraordinary experience.

Why settle for less?

AVIP shares this philosophy. When I arrived in Indonesia, I knew I found my second home and it was the natural place to establish AVIP. I simply love the people. I knew this would be a great opportunity to share my knowlegde and expertise - which inspired me with an inner energy.
