Alexander Doerr

Having lived in Canada, Germany, and China, this enthusiastic traveler left the cold weather behind to land in Indonesia.

Growing up and studying between Vancouver and Calgary, Alexander discovered his passion for Architecture with his first experience in the field as a model maker for the esteemed Vancouver based practice Henriquez + Partners.  Upon graduation he worked as a freelance architect and graphic designer helping shape notable Vancouver spaces: The Cobalt, The Rickshaw Theatre, The Narrow Lounge and Grub restaurant, as well as collaborating with UVI Lab on several Vancouver Winter Olympic 2012 projects. Moving to Berlin he gained a more classical training in Architecture working at Noefer Architekten before heading to China where he was a Senior Project Designer in the landscape architecture based practice EDFA. Sensitive to the social impact of architecture, Alexander has previously volunteered with 'Global Studio' for the UN. The studio helps improve the lives of slum dwellers through the development of more equitable, sustainable and livable environments.

Alexander holds a Bachelor's degree of Arts in Cultural Anthropology from the University of British Columbia and a Master’s degree in Architecture from the Faculty of Environmental Design at the University of Calgary.
